T he Fallen Firefighters Poker Run has been held annually for two years now. It usually takes place in September on the Saturday before Firefighters' National Memorial Day. Although this time of year can pose its challenges with weather, we always seem to get the support of Alberta riders and firefighters from across the province. This year, with cooler temperatures and rain, our riders truly showed that they were a tough group of people willing to brave the elements to support our nations' fallen firefighters. We had riders and firefighters attend from as far away as Fort McMurray and Wainwright, to many local riders and firefighters attending from Edmonton and its surrounding cities and communities. Many local sponsors returned to support the event such as Heritage Harley-Davidson, the House of Thunder, Blackjacks Roadhouse, and Rig Hand Craft Distillery. We also received support and many great prizes from firefighter owned and operated companies. We had a remarkable custom fire axe made by Rugged Glory and specially designed and produced for the event. Fire Science Nutrition and Fire Department Coffee donated prizes to the event as well. Prizes also included motorcycle apparel, riding gear, motorcycle maintenance items, gift cards, and general motorcycle swag for your home or garage. Rig Hand Craft Distillery was kind enough to once again make custom label products for this event. A portion of the proceeds from every bottle sold was donated to the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation. The event starts off with registration and breakfast at Heritage Harley-Davidson. Every registered rider or passenger 65 Men of Fire Rides for the CFFF Submitted by Men of Fire, Chapter 9 Motorcycle Club, Northern Alberta
