NEWS FROM OUR UNITS • BRITISH COLUMBIA • ALBERTA • SASKATCHEWAN • MANITOBA • ONTARIO • QUEBEC • NEW BRUNSWICK • NOVA SCOTIA BRITISH COLUMBIA COMMAND 18 SHOULDER TO SHOULDER GREY CUP 2018 - SIDNEY UNIT 302 And the big winner of the day for the BC Lions jersey and hat was Mike Dustin (Unit Sports Chair). A great time was had by all. On November 26th, 2018, Unit 302 hosted the traditional Grey Cup event to a packed house watching the game on the big screen. At half-time, the football toss was won by David Marks. NORTH KAMLOOPS UNIT 290 On Sunday October 28th , at the General meeting of The Army, Navy, & Air Force Veterans (ANAVETS) Unit 290, donations were made to each of the four Cadet corps of Kamloops. President Gord Marsh presents the checks to the Cadets representatives. Air Cadet League of Canada 204 Black Maria Squadron Kamloops - Donated $1,500.00 2305 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps – Donated $1,500.00 137 Kamloops Sea Cadets- Donated $1,500.00 102 Kamloops Navy league cadet core – Donated $1,500.00 ANAVETS 290 #9 -177 Tranquille RD. phone-250-554-2455 MINISTER OF VETERANS AFFAIRS COMMENDATION - UNIT 302 Comrade Pat Bryson received the Minister Of Veterans Affairs Commendation for his untiring efforts to the care and well-being of veterans. Pat has served on the unit executive for several years and is a Life Member of the ANAVETS Association Sidney Museum Unit 302. He has also served as Vice Chair for the Tillicum Veterans Care Society and served on the Board for the South Vancouver Island Housing Scociety as the Board Property Manager. During this time on the Board, Pat was responsible for a large 5-year project of window upgrades and renovations to all the interiors of the independent units. Pat also became involved with the Broadmead Care Society serving on the Board of Directors as an appointee from the Veterans Care Society and, served as vice President of the Board. Further to his leadership role on the Board, Pat served extensively on the Board's Executive Committee, Finance Committee and Quality Improvement Committee. Pat Bryson continues to this day as the Sidney Unit 302 Service Officer. President Dave McGregor (r) congratulates Pat Bryson (l) on his Minister's Commendation.
