Dominion President's MESSAGE Comrades, How time flies! Six months have already passed by and a lot of things have happened. Our new Secretary-Treasurer, Deanna Fimrite, has taken over the reins of the Dominion Office as of 2 January 2013. Our new Administrative Assistant, Julie Landry, started 14 January 2013 and is doing a great job with the many duties of the office. Julie, Deanna and Jason, Deanna's husband, have cleaned and painted the office which has lightened it up and given it a new, professional appearance. At the end of February my wife, Eleanor and I went to Washington DC to swear 17 new members into ANAVICUS, our ANAVETS unit in the United States. We had a great time and were treated very well by the representatives of the American Legion. The first week of March, along with Brian Phoenix, Dominion first Vice President and Finance Chairman, Deanna, Julie and I went over the review engagement with the representative of the accountant's firm Raymond, Chabot, Grant, Thornton. All seems correct and the figures showed a profit for the year 2012. Also in 2012 the Association membership numbers showed an increase for the first time in 22 years. Let's keep up the good work. We had our annual luncheon for Friends of the Veteran on 7 March 2013 and it was a success. It is a great opportunity to talk to MPs, Senators, generals and representatives of other Veterans' organizations about our accomplishments, concerns and questions. Our focus and work is for the veteran. Governments should not be cutting benefits or services to any of our veterans who gave their lives, were injured or became sick during their service to this great country. It is because of their dedication we can enjoy the freedoms we have today. I wish you all a healthy and happy summer holiday. Shoulder to Shoulder, George L. Beaulieu, Dominion President MEMBERSHIP INCREASES Congrats to the following 26 units that increased their membership in 2012. Those units in BOLD were on last year's list as well!
