Calendar of Events I t is both humbling and an honour to be your President. I am privileged to lead an organization that has progressed significantly under the leadership of Chief Clive Weighill, and look forward to working with all of you to continue to benefit our membership and the public. To our outgoing Board members, Chief Dave Jones, D/Comm. Craig Callens, Chief Andy McGrogran, Chief Troy Hagen, Chief Stephen Tanner, Chief Gilles Lee and A/Comm. Tracy Hardy – thank you for your service and leadership. You contributed generously to the Board. You will be missed. To the incoming members, Chief Cst. Bob Downie, A/Comm. Bill Fordy, Chief Roger Chaffin, Chief Marlo Pritchard, Chief Jennifer Evans, Director Pierre Brochet, Chief Paul Fiander, and C/Supt. Mike Jeffrey – welcome. I'm so pleased that you have joined us, and look forward to benefiting from your experience and expertise over the upcoming term. To Chief Chuck Bordeleau and the Ottawa team, thank you for hosting an outstanding conference. I have been approached by many delegates who reinforced the relevance and importance of this year's theme for police leaders and the communities they serve across the country. As we head into the fall, I want to focus on how we can work collectively to build public trust and confidence in policing. Additionally, I am committed to continuing our efforts to ensure the mental health of our members, to improve the sustainability of First Nations Policing, to support the National Enquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, to implement the 700 MHz bandwidth for public safety, and to work with government to develop regulations for the legalization of marijuana. The Board and I are counting on your participation!
