Calendar of Events O ur Association continues to strive to meet our member needs. We've listened to the comments and issues raised by our Board, the provincial Chiefs Associations, and our members. At our 2017 President's Council meeting we heard that you want a one stop shop where you can access information on new technologies and uses, projects other agencies are engaged in, and research models and templates. You want a trusted interface that allows you, in concert with your colleagues, to tap into issues around the country. We will work toward to addressing these needs with the CACP Research Foundation. Our provincial Police Chief Associations and FPT partners have drawn our attention to a broad range of priority areas for action ranging from addressing the impacts of the introduction of marijuana legislation, to tackling the fentanyl/opioid crisis, building public trust and confidence in policing, drug impaired driving, the National Cyber-Security and dealing with increases in gun related incidents and organized crime. Our committees are working hard on a multitude of legal, professionalism and ethics, human resources, information management, technical, police and justice reform, victimization, First Nations, research and service delivery related issues to name just a few. Good progress is being made by many, however much remains to be done. Our Board is working to develop more a deliberate plan to recruit future leaders as members, and to use this plan to promote membership in CACP committees. We are committed to aligning provincial Chiefs Association committees and CACP committees to encourage communication and professional development. Are you or some of the future leaders in your agency able to assist us in achieving our goals? Check out our Committees and the work they are doing, and contact the National office if you are interested in working with one of them.
