Calendar of Events T he Board of Directors has identified improving communications as a critical strategic priority for the CACP. We've added to our communications toolkit over the past decade, however we recognize that many of our communications efforts have been disparate and reactive. We have not been able to use new and emerging communications tools to maximum advantage and have encountered challenges in exchanging and sharing information in a timely manner. If we want the CACP to be credible, successful and sustainable, our communications must capitalize on the strengths our national executive membership brings. We recognized that we need a communications specialist to guide our efforts. I would like to welcome and introduce you to Ms. Natalie Wright who has joined the CACP as our Communications Advisor, to support Mr. Tim Smith's role as our Government Relations and Strategic Communications Advisor. Ms. Wright will help us ensure that our primary focus is on providing communication services that meet the needs of our members, in French and English. We are particularly interested in developing and implementing membership/Board communications that support and engage members; support work-sharing, information exchange/discussions and polling; promote best practices; and facilitate issues management. On page 6, Ms. Wright introduces readers to the new CACP communications strategy. It aligns communication priorities with CACP organizational priorities. The strategy is comprehensive and will be implemented in stages, with ongoing monitoring and evaluation, to ensure it supports the CACP deliverables of leadership development, thought leadership, advocacy, research, public education, partnerships and governance. We look forward to working with you on this journey to add value for our members, and by extension, for the communities we serve.
